Symphonic Meky Žbirka & Unique Orchestra

The unique project Meky Žbirka Symphonic & Unique Orchestra was initiated by Meky himself. The idea behind the project was to create instrumental symphonic versions of his most famous songs.

The project is realized in collaboration with Unique Orchestra, which brings a contemporary touch to the work, emphasizing not only the musical quality of Meky’s creations but also the professional and unconventional performance of the arrangements.

Together with arranger Daniel Wunsch, Meky managed to prepare some of the orchestral arrangements, and after his passing, the work continued in collaboration with David and Katka Žbirka. Last year, the large-scale concerts of the same name in Bratislava and Prague were completely sold out.

Timeless hits by Miro Žbirka such as Co bolí to přebolí, Atlantída, Balada o poľných vtákoch, and Múr našich lások are performed in this unique instrumental symphonic arrangement, accompanied by video projections by David Žbirka. The orchestra performs in close connection with Meky’s band, led by Jan Ponocný.
