Ctirad is a distinctive figure on the Czech music scene. His greatest strength lies in his exceptional multi-instrumental skills and a refined sensitivity to sound across genres. He is considered one of the leading Czech handpan players - one of the youngest and most resonant musical instruments of today.
His musical journey began at the age of three with the xylophone, followed by formal piano studies. During high school, he discovered the magic of the guitar and percussion instruments, and at the age of twenty he sat behind a drum kit for the first time. Over time, he became increasingly fascinated by oriental and resonant instruments, with the handpan standing out most prominently - an instrument that captivated him not only with its young history and visual form, but above all with its deep, vibrating sound.
The handpan became the cornerstone of Ctirad’s solo project, in which he connects music with natural elements. In his compositions, he blends the sound of the handpan with instrumental soundscapes and authentic ambient field recordings from the Lusatian Mountains. The result is a series of original musical pieces rich in melodies, harmonies, rhythms and overtones, naturally drawing listeners into the landscape from which the music emerges. Ctirad’s aim is to create a space where music becomes a bridge between art and nature - a place for calm, deep listening and a more profound connection with the surrounding world.
